Spinal Disc Decompression Therapy
Spinal Disc Decompression Therapy
A targeted, non-surgical approach used as part of a structured plan for selected spinal conditions.
At The Hub Chiro, we use spinal decompression to support cases involving disc-related pain, nerve irritation, and persistent lower back or neck issues — when clinically appropriate.
What Is Spinal Disc Decompression?
Spinal decompression is a gentle, computer-guided treatment that applies controlled unloading through specific areas of the spine.
We use the DOC Spinal Decompression Table, which allows us to:
- target individual spinal levels
- adjust positioning for comfort and accuracy
- tailor each session to the person
Treatment is:
- fully clothed
- low force
- and adjusted based on your response
When Is It Used?
Spinal decompression is not used for every patient.
It may be considered where appropriate for:
- disc bulges or herniations
- sciatica or nerve-related leg pain
- persistent lower back pain
- recurring neck pain
- symptoms aggravated by sitting, bending, or lifting
Suitability is always determined through assessment.
How It Fits Into Your Care
At our clinic, decompression is not a standalone treatment.
It is used as part of a broader approach that may include:
- chiropractic care
- movement guidance
- and staged progression over time
The goal is to:
- reduce irritation
- improve movement
- and support longer-term change
Our Approach
Assessment First
We determine whether decompression is appropriate based on your presentation — not just your diagnosis.
Targeted Application
If used, treatment is tailored to the specific spinal level and adjusted over time.
Progression Over Time
As symptoms settle, care evolves to restore movement and improve tolerance to everyday activity.
What to Expect
Sessions are:
- comfortable and controlled
- individually programmed
- and typically short in duration
You remain in control throughout the session, with settings adjusted based on your comfort and response.
Important to Understand
Spinal decompression is most effective when:
- applied to the right presentation
- used consistently
- and combined with an appropriate plan
It is not designed as a quick fix, but as part of a structured approach to care.
Is It Right for You?
The best way to determine this is through an assessment.
We will:
- review your history
- assess your movement and symptoms
- and guide you on whether decompression is appropriate
