Getting enough good quality sleep is probably one of the healthiest things you can do for your body. Sleep aides in body repair, recovery and preparation for the day ahead.

 

Most humans will spend a third of their life sleeping. Certain sleeping positions are more beneficial than others when it comes to spinal health. Stomach sleeping is considered to be the least beneficial because unnecessary tension is put through the neck and low back from being twisted to one side. This can cause stiffness and soreness especially in the mornings from the spinal joints being strained at night. However, the optimal sleeping positions are on the back with a pillow under the knees or on the side with a pillow between the legs.
